More About Level I

Basic At Scene Traffic Accident Investigation Level I

The AIRS, Inc., Level I investigation class is the first level of instruction for entry level officers, investigators and engineers. This class will introduce students to the importance of a quality investigation using the following techniques:

• roadway evidence
• report writing
• skid-mark analysis
• scale diagramming (New technologies introduced)
• Colorado State Accident Report Form
• Identification of a vehicle in a side-slip or yaw
• Scene photography
• Initial level time/distance analysis
• Initial airborne equations

Each student will complete a comprehensive exam covering the course material at the end of the class. Students should have a fair working knowledge of a scientific calculator.
